Hitachi Magic Wand Review

The Hitachi Magic Wand is a vibrating muscle massager long commanded by many in search of higher orgasmic satisfaction. I often wondered what the large deal was, I mean seriously; it’s huge, everybody’s saying it’s really noisy, it’s only 2 speeds, and I might have forgotten to say it’s um… huge! The generous people at Babeland offered for me to review.

Well, frankly now I can see about all the fuss. Let me inform you the specifics of this specific piece of machinery (because seriously IT IS NOT A TOY… it’s too great to be called a toy) and then we’ll get why everyone should have it in their toy box.

Magic Wand Review

A vibrating wand massager is the Hitachi Magic Wand. Since the seventies, it has been around and appears to be a staple in the adult film industry. It operates electrically and can only be used with energy sources 110-120v. The Hitachi is 12 inches long and the diameter of the head is 2 1/2′′. It comes with a 6-foot-long cord. Look at it this way, you could always carry it in your car and use it for a weapon if someone tries to rob you if it doesn’t work for you sexually or is not relaxing to your muscles. Weighing in at 1.2 pounds and having nearly enough cord to use it like a lasso, if you swing it at their head a few times, it will definitely offer somebody a break.

Hitachi Magic Wand

Okay, on to the reasons why one of these poor guys should have everyone. You can use it as a muscle massager or as a clit massager, either way when you’re done you’ll be lovely and relaxed. To hold on to it is sturdy and simple. I really felt like wands weren’t for me after using another wand massager that I won’t name (let’s call it the Wannabe Hitachi). It was clunky, and my contours just didn’t fit well. The first wand massager was nearly enough to switch me off for good, but I see it’s the one I should have received in the start after attempting the Hitachi.

The Hitachi is produced of vinyl and tough plastic, which are very secure, simple to wash products. Some soap and water are all you need, or your toy cleaner. You’re going to do it in a snap. The box that this enters is quite discreet, but let’s face it, there are very few people who don’t know for what a Hitachi wand is being used.

Pros:

  • Electric-makes it worth it just so you don’t have to buy tons of batteries
  • Flexible
  • Powerful
  • Easy to clean
  • I found it wasn’t too loud for me-you can hear it in my room, but since I’m using music to cover most of my toys anyway, it wasn’t something I could hear through my locked door

Cons:

  • Only to be used in the U.S.
  • Should only be used for less than 30 minutes at a time ( let’s face it, if it takes you more than 30 minutes to get off with a Hitachi, you have a “Clit of Steel” and nothing is going to work for you)
  • not waterproof ( BECAUSE IT’S ELECTRIC!!!)
  • only 2 speeds ( low which is really- Phasers set on stun and high- which I have no clue what something this high would be called other than OMG OMG, I am a puddle of goo now..)

I gave you advantages and disadvantages on this item, but the disadvantages aren’t necessarily bad for me, as most of them don’t really hamper me. I live in the United States, it took me about 10 minutes to get off with this, I play better in bed and I barely even used it on high (lower was fine for me and probably stronger than high on many of my toys). For the individual who thought up this specific toy, there is certainly a unique place.

Five out of five stars!

Safest Materials for Your Sex Toys

The sex toy industry is a pretty vast one. Believe it or not, there are more materials used to create sex toys as compared to the clothing industry. So, what’s the safest substance for your body? We’ve listed them (Best to worst) down below:

Silicone

Silicone is by far, the best material you can buy. It is soft, flexible and really comfortable for both male and female sex toys. There are numerous reasons as to why we say this. First off, silicone is really easy to clean, that is why it is popular in the medical field too. The material is non-porous and won’t absorb any fluids. However, one major drawback is that these toys cost a bit more than what ordinary people are willing to spend to fulfill their humanly needs.

Elastomer

Elastomer is pretty much the downgraded version of silicone. Most of the characteristics of both materials are the same. For instance, it can also be washed easily, it’s soft but Elastomer is slight porous. It will absorb fluids to some extent and transfer bacteria. If you can’t afford the expensive silicone, then this is the second best thing.

Cyber Skin

Cyber Skin is a material that is used to imitate the soft feel of skin. This substance isn’t that safe but its still number three on our list. It is oil-based with porous material so it should not be used to induce internal pleasure. You should use a condom if doing so. It’s a bit difficult to wash because the standard soap will break down the Cyber Skin material.

A Brief Guide to Cleaning Your Sex Toys

Most people think that if they’re not sharing their sex toys, there is no need to clean them. Well, you’re dead wrong. Recurring use of a sex toy will cause bacteria to grow on the surface which can be harmful for your genitals. Frequently cleaning the sex toys will also protect its material and prolong the lifetime of the toy. So, if you’re new to this, we’ll teach you how to make your toys squeaky clean.

First step is to identify the material. Usually, that information is given on the box. But, if you tossed the box, you can still Google the product and check out its material. We’ll list each material and how you can clean it.

Silicone, Glass, Steel and Wood (Motorized)

The motor means that it can’t come in direct contact with water. Use soap or alcohol on a cloth to clean the toy.

Silicone, Pyrex, Steel and Stone (Not Motorized)

These toys are pretty easy to clean. You can just boil them for about 10 minutes to get rid of the bacteria. You can also toss them in the dishwasher and the steam will clean them too.

Cyber Skin

Cyber needs a little bit of soap and warm water to clean it. Too much of either will destroy the material.

Hard Plastic, Elastomer, Thermoplastic and Jelly Rubber

These materials are highly porous and there’s no definitive way to clean them. We advise using a condom if you’re sharing them with someone else or the result would be an STD.

The Ancient History of Sex Toys

When we refer to sex toys, we think of them as a modern day invention. However, Hallie Lieberman thinks differently. She earned her Ph. D from the University of Wisconsin by proving that sex toys are much older than we think they are. In her opinion, 30,000 years ago, our ancestors were making 8-inch penises from siltstone.

Even though they’re older than most of the inventions we use today, they’re still a subject of controversy. In the early 1900s, sex toys couldn’t be sold or advertised publicly. Even today, there are certain laws in some states of the US that don’t permit the public advertisement of these toys. That might be the reason why Hitachi doesn’t openly express what their Magic Wand is meant to do.

Till 1960s, people used to cringe at the word “dildo” and till the mid 2000s, they still did. But, there were a few movies that changed the outlook of people and what they thought about sex toys. “Sex and the City” would be a great example. Their portrayal of the Rabbit Vibrators resulted in a peak in sales. Similarly, 50 Shades of Grey also introduced people to bondage toys that they previously thought inappropriate.

Sex toys are an industry that will keep getting better and better in the years to come. There are new developments being made and new products like Oral Toys are hitting the market. We’re not in the day and age of sex robots, but it’d be an understatement to say that we’re pretty damn close.

How Big is The Sex Toy Industry?

In the earlier 2000s, when we first started seeing sex toys everywhere, people didn’t know that this industry would be sky-rocketed only 18 years from now. Just like the Porn Industry, the Sex Toy industry is continuing to grow further and expand its horizons. If you’re still doubtful about the money in this business, Susan Colvin, co-founder of AMNE said that the industry is currently around $15 Billion. Pretty unbelievable, right?

How did the Industry Take Off So Fast?

At first, the public’s perspective of these toys wasn’t exactly positive. But, Hollywood helped a lot to change the opinion of people about these toys. For instance, Sex and the City and its portrayal of the Jack Rabbits urged people to try these sex toys and they started selling like hot cakes.

Another fair example would be the modern day 50 Shades of Grey. This movie not only opened some people’s mind, it also introduced the world to bondage and the fun of it. Sex toys wouldn’t be where they are if these two movies didn’t contribute to raising the awareness about it.

So, what do we expect of the market and sex toys? We’re no experts but Colvin also stated that by 2020, the industry will be propelled to $50 Billion. We don’t know if this will be the case but, judging from how fast these toys sell out, that expectation might just be an understatement.

Do Oral Sex Simulators for Women Even Work?

We might be decades away from sex robots, but we’re slowly replacing men with toys that can do the same thing much better. Vibrators and dildos were one thing, but one thing that the sex toy industry was lacking was something that can offer oral sex. But, not anymore; ORA 2 from LELO is a great alternative for oral sex. Many people argue that these oral toys don’t work, but this is one that’s bound to do the job pretty well.

Introduction to ORA 2

The ORA 2 doesn’t look anything like a sex toy. From the look of it, it seems like something women would wear as a ring. But, nonetheless it is one of the best toys ever made. The little thing is meant to mimic the feel of a tongue on your vagina. Beneath the little part which we call the tongue, there is a motor that swirls beneath the silicone. As it revolves around, it moves the silicone as well. The soft silicone feels just like the tip of the tongue and is the best thing LELO has ever made.

The ORA 2 also has the revolutionary hardware from LELO called the SenseTouch. The toy detects how hard you’re pushing the toy and it create vibrations accordingly. So, long story short, every woman needs to get this even if they don’t use sex toys. It can also be used as an addition to your pre-existing sex life.
